The Greater Norwich Local Plan

Broadland District Council, Norwich City Council and South Norfolk Council are working together with Norfolk County Council to prepare
the Greater Norwich Local Plan (GNLP).

The Greater Norwich Local Plan will build on the long-established joint working arrangements for Greater Norwich, which have delivered the current Joint Core Strategy (JCS) for the area.  The JCS plans for the housing and jobs needs of the area to 2026.  The GNLP will ensure that these needs continue to be met to 2038.  The GNLP will include strategic planning policies and will also allocate individual sites for development.  It will aim to ensure that new homes and jobs are delivered and the environment is protected and enhanced, promoting sustainability and the effective functioning of the area.

A public consultation for the Regulation 18 Draft Greater Norwich Local Plan will take place between 29th January 2020 to 16th March 2020,
you can view the draft GNLP policies, view an interactive map of sites and make your comments online at http://www.gnlp.org.uk/
You can also come to a local roadshow event at Taverham Village Hall on 21st February 2020 between 2pm and 8pm.

Welcome to Taverham Parish Council Website

Twist TreeTaverham is a large village situated on the bank of the River Wensum roughly 6 miles north-west of Norwich. With approximately 10,700 inhabitants, the parish is divided into two wards (north and south) and is represented by fifteen parish councillors. Councillors are either elected or co-opted and voluntarily carry out duties for the council. Council and committee meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of the month at Taverham Village Hall and start at 7.30pm. Agendas are placed in noticeboards at various locations around the parish in advance and members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Other volunteers working on behalf of the Council include drivers for the Parish of Taverham Community Help (PATCH) scheme and the woodland volunteers. PATCH is a group of residents who will take Taverham parishioners to appointments such as doctors, dentists, hospital etc for a nominal fee to cover fuel costs. If you wish to volunteer or to find out more information please call Tracy on 261300.

The woodlands volunteers work in conjunction with the Council’s arboriculture contractor to maintain Ghosthill Wood and Eastfield. They meet on the second Saturday of the month, 10am at the Norgate Way entrance to the wood.
