Parish Councillor Vacancies

Welcome to Taverham Parish Council Website

Twist TreeTaverham is a large village situated on the bank of the River Wensum roughly 6 miles north-west of Norwich. With approximately 10,700 inhabitants, the parish is divided into two wards (north and south) and is represented by fifteen parish councillors. Councillors are either elected or co-opted and voluntarily carry out duties for the council. Council and committee meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of the month at Taverham Village Hall and start at 7.30pm. Agendas are placed in noticeboards at various locations around the parish in advance and members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Other volunteers working on behalf of the Council include drivers for the Parish of Taverham Community Help (PATCH) scheme and the woodland volunteers. PATCH is a group of residents who will take Taverham parishioners to appointments such as doctors, dentists, hospital etc for a nominal fee to cover fuel costs. If you wish to volunteer or to find out more information please call Tracy on 261300.

The woodlands volunteers work in conjunction with the Council’s arboriculture contractor to maintain Ghosthill Wood and Eastfield. They meet on the second Saturday of the month, 10am at the Norgate Way entrance to the wood.

Teberham Hall

The parish council has allotments available to parishioners on a first come first served basis. Taverham Allotment and Leisure Gardeners Association (TALGA) manages the site and is currently accepting applications from Taverham and Drayton residents to be on the waiting list.

A youth club is held at the youth room on Sandy Lane on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during term time. New members and volunteers are always welcomed.
